Torch Cutting Operations on the Original East Require Bike Path Closure
In preparation for the lowering of the Pier E5 truss span, torch cutting and burning of steel will be performed during the coming several weeks. The bridge portion of the bike path, approximately ½ mile west, will be closed in order to minimize potential risks to the public from the smoke likely to result from the torch cutting operations. Closure dates: Monday, March 7, 2016 through Friday, April 1, 2016.
Toll Bridge Program Oversight Committee meetings are open to the public and media. Attendees are encouraged to print their own materials, as copies of memos and other documents will not be available at the meeting; agendas will be available. Access to archived materials and agendas, along with the upcoming meeting information, can be found here
The first is the August 14th DRAFT Lisin review of the fracture surface of Rod #3 done 8-14-15 identifying that a higher magnification look at the surface would be required. The second is the subsequent 9-22-15 TEAM trip to Exova to do the higher magnification look. The first DRAFT Report has a footnote added 11-16-15 indicating the higher magnification look was subsequently done 9-22-15 so that two reports are hand and glove.
